Next on our Local Adventure Awaits campaign was a trip to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Ski Hill. Fairmont Ski Hill is a family friendly ski area that offers rentals, lessons, lift tickets and tubing. Whether you’re a novice adult, a young learner or even an experienced skier or boarder looking to brush up on your skills, their Snow School has the right program for you.
First up: rental gear
Laura was geared up with ski boots, skis and of course, a helmet. She was also able to purchase a new neck warmer (that doubles as a face covering) for her big lesson. Their rental shop offers gear that can be rented for the day, the week or even the season. Big and small they’ve got it all!

And she was off; Laura’s first time on skis! At the beginning of the lesson she informed everyone that she would not, in fact, be going on “that thing that pulls you up the hill” (also known as The Happy Trails Plater Lift). Her instructor started her off nice and easy, taking it one step at a time and guess what? Before we knew it….
“Huge shout out to my instructor Garrett. He not only helped me get over my fear of going up the platter and coming down the hill, but he also made me want to come back for more!”

Overall we had a great day at the Fairmont Ski Hill! Laura has since been back for more lessons and can’t wait for more time on skis. Thanks to the Fairmont crew for having us out for the day.
